Mini Haul

Recently I've gone out and bought some things (with what little money I have!) and when I say recently, I mean not so recently. All of this has been bought over a span of about five months. So I hope you enjoy the (LQ) pics - taken with my crappy Blackberry camera.
I'm especially in love with the spike necklace, I haven't stopped wearing it since it arrived a few days ago, and it was so cheap (although it weighs almost a kilo). On the other end of the scale the suede heels were ridiculously expensive but it was a present from my mum because I actually needed these (for reasons I won't go into). :)

Jamaica Sun Dress - Topshop (on sale at almost half price now! - I had a bad time with this dress)
Gold Spike Metal Chain Necklace - Chicnova
Claw Rings - ASOS
Nail Varnish - Barry M Nail Paint in Racing Green 299
Pleated Metallic Blue Skirt - Topshop
Black Suede Boots - Dune

London Calling

There's something about London style that's just so unique and effortlessly cool. We Brits wear a mix of vintage, high street and designer (designer for those who can afford it) and pull it off by looking like we didn't even think about what we were wearing. I think Burberry is the perfect example of a brand which has kept true to its heritage whilst still keeping up with the times, and in my opinion it is the embodiment of British cool.

C-Diddy...

...her friends call her, though she's better known as Cara Delevingne. You haven't heard of her? Shame on you. I guess she's relatively new in the fashion industry and on the media circuit, but she's already walked in her first Haute Couture show (Chanel S/S 2012 - wow) and starred in many Burberry ads, as well as been in Vogue China, Brazil and Turkey. To say I'm a bit jealous of her is an understatement - the thing I'm most jealous of her for, though, is her incredible eyebrows. They're so dark compared to her blonde hair, but they work perfectly.

The Queen of Paris Haute Couture

Frida Gustavsson  (Swedish beauty who started modelling at 16) is my absolute favourite model. I wouldn't say ever, because the icons like Kate Moss and Twiggy are a given - but in terms of young, working models, Frida tops every list. She's walked in hundreds of shows, including Valentino, Chanel, Lanvin, opening and closing. She's been in American Vogue, ELLE, and has won a Model of the Year award at the ELLE Sweden Awards (which she obviously deserved). There's nothing this girl can't do, and on top of that, everything she does she does with an effortless cool, that you can see is 100% natural.
So, after reading that embarrassing gushy paragraph, you can only imagine how ecstatic I was when I discovered Frida would be doing Paris HC Spring 2012! Paris + HC + Frida = perfection out of this world. She's already walked for Christian Dior, Giambattista Valli and Chanel (wooo) so far, as well as closing Armani Prive. If I've achieved half as much as that by the time I'm 18 I'll be happy. She is the queen of Paris Haute Couture.

Lindsey Wixson 'Like a Doll' by Tim Walker - Vogue Italia January 2012

Since I first heard about her, I've had mixed feelings about Lindsey Wixson. Her overly-gapped teeth and squashed up baby lips came across as quite ugly...I wasn't really seeing what everyone else did. I forgot about her for a while, but a few days ago I came across this incredibly creepy yet charming editorial in Vogue Italia (shot by the amazing Tim Walker). Any previous thoughts of dislike I had of Lindsey before I saw this went away, because her face is completely impossible not to love! She's clearly a talented model, and I find slightly twisted editorials like these so intriguing - a step up from the average fashion editorial.

More shots here.

Miu Miu S/S 2012

Miu Miu was one of my favourite shows in S/S 2012, no doubt inspired by traditional Dutch peasant garb and so on, yet with a touch of inner-city modernity with the silk dresses and colour block eyeshadow (reminiscent of Luella S/S 2010). Miu Miu rarely fails to impress!
